Training:

The training as an industrial mechanic at Riverside provides apprentices with a broad range of knowledge in the areas of turning and milling technology, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.

Profile:
  • Training duration: 3.5 years (possible to shorten to 3 years)
  • Start of training: Every year on September 1st
  • Requirements: At least a good secondary school leaving certificate
  • Training process:

    In the first few months, apprentices undergo basic training, where they learn all the fundamental skills in working with materials. This includes both manual work such as filing, as well as machine work such as drilling and sawing. Later on, apprentices learn how to use the turning, bending, and milling machines, which greatly facilitate mechanical work. Additionally, during their training, industrial mechanics go through the departments of locksmithing, piping, and individual heating power plants, which may become their future work areas.

    Twice a week, apprentices attend classes at the Walter-Gropius-Berufskolleg as part of the dual training system. Furthermore, internal lessons take place regularly in the company's own training workshop.
