- Greet and escort patients to examination rooms
- Collect patient medical history, including reasons for visit, family medical history, allergies, and medications
- Conduct basic eye tests before physician examination and ensure patient comprehension of the tests being conducted
- Verify patient's current eye prescription details
- Dilate patients' eyes with drops if necessary for further tests
- Perform advanced eye examinations including OCT, Fundus photos, IOLMaster, Pentacam, A-Scan, B-Scan, and WaveScan
- Inform patients on who will attend to them post examinations, ensuring their comfort during wait times
- Renew prescription eye drops as per physician's instructions
- Accurately document all history and test results
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations
- May be assigned special projects and additional duties as required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience as an Ophthalmic Technician II, Medical Assistant, or Scribe
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with medical billing and coding in an EMR system
- Strong written, verbal, and listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to speak Spanish is a bonus
- Prior experience in a medical setting, understanding of medical terms, and COA certification
- Preferred experience in phlebotomy
- Flexible Hours: 35 - 40 hours per week

Position Summary:
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role as a support to our physicians. You will be trained in various administrative and clinical tasks. These tasks include preparing patients for physician consultations, setting up examination rooms, conducting basic vision screenings, administering eye medications, maintaining ophthalmic instruments, and aiding in minor surgical and laser procedures.
