Description

The Fraunhofer Society currently operates 76 institutes and research facilities in Germany and is the world's leading organization for applied research.

Around employees work on an annual research volume of 3.0 billion euros.

The "Accounting" department provides support to the Fraunhofer institutes and external parties regarding all questions related to accounting and prepares individual institute financial statements as part of the annual financial statements.

In addition, the department manages the SAP module VIM (Vendor Invoice Management, including validation), the central invoice entry portal for all Fraunhofer institutes and the central office.

Other focal points include managing subsidiary ledgers (creditors and debtors), tax declarations (VAT, withholding tax, etc.), foreign trade reporting, managing recurring payments, and debt collection.

The department is also responsible for creating guidelines for proper, complete, and consistent handling of accounting. The "Accounting" department also serves as the customs representative for the Fraunhofer Society.
