A/R Medical Billing Payment Poster


Physicians Management Group, which provides all administrative services for Maryland Primary Care Physicians LLC, has an A/R Medical Billing Payment Poster opening.

Under the supervision of the Posting Supervisor, the A/R Medical Billing Payment Poster is responsible for the daily posting of payments and adjustment transactions for posting, electronic, paper, and lockbox, and credit card payments and handling incoming patient calls.

Daily work activities include but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate posting of payments, adjustments, retractions, and denial transactions (paper and electronic).
  • Verify the accuracy of daily input to reports generated by the practice management system
  • Review and interpret the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from insurance carriers to post appropriate payment and denial codes.
  • Resolve all pending and variance items within designated time frames.
  • Recognize payment inconsistencies and anomalies and inform the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain organized payment and adjustment batches, supportive paper EOB and remittance advice.
  • Work with various credit queues in Epic. Research and resolve unapplied or overposted credits and process refund requests when necessary.
  • Prepare the daily payment posting documents.
  • Participate in identifying thirdparty payer payment denials and low reimbursed charges.
  • Answer and respond to patient and insurance carrier calls and address their questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Accurately and concisely document notes in the medical software system per company guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations for insurance carriers.
  • Maintain uptodate information on various insurance companies and any relevant changes.
  • Communicates effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, both inter and intradepartmentally.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to fellow team members when necessary.
  • Provide information regarding work progress, actions, and issues in a timely and effective manner. Recommend improvements.
  • Effectively identify and communicate to the supervisor changes, issues, or when assistance is needed.
  • Support and backup other areas of the department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TRAINING TO TAKE PLACE ON-SITE.
