Description
Welcome to the home of LEADERS

Mission:

Culver educates its students for leadership and responsible citizenship in society by developing and nurturing the whole individual, mind, spirit, and body, through integrated programs that emphasize the cultivation of character.

Culver Academies is a private boarding school. We enroll students and employ faculty and staff from across the United States and around the world. We are seeking diverse talent to support our mission and enrich our learning environment.

At Culver, we are always looking to strengthen our organizational leadership by adding outstanding talent to our faculty and staff whose passion is to serve our students.

Located on the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver Academies encompasses 1,800 acres of green hills and woodlands, and a historic collegiate-like campus with beautiful Gothic architecture.

Our location in Culver, Indiana, offers the best of both worlds; a beautiful, serene setting with access to large cities nearby, including the home of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.

We are also less than two hours away from Chicago and Indianapolis.

Culver Academies is committed to developing the whole child, and our students distinguish themselves from others through their pursuit of leadership, character, effective communication, well-being, and scholarship.

An Advisor plays a key role in a student's journey towards realizing these distinguishing characteristics from the moment a student arrives on campus until they graduate.

Culver admits students from all around the country and World capable of pursuing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum while becoming responsible citizens and leaders.

Students are selected for their potential to meet Culver's high academic standards and dedication to Culver's mission.

Advisors at Culver support students, each other, and the community by committing to the following.

  • Advise approximately twentyfive students and their families in each grade with the highest ethical and professional standards, adhering to Culver's core values of trust, honor, duty, and service and acting with wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice.
  • Support and know each advisee through regular small group meetings and individual meetings throughout a student's Culver experience.
  • Provide opportunities for each student to better understand themselves as learners, leaders, and as future citizens throughout their Culver career.
  • Communicate authentically, promptly, and respectfully in all communication with students and parents through clear and defined channels.
  • Connect family, student, and advisor at key moments in a student's full 912 experience, including academic scheduling, preparing for the college process, and within the college process.
  • Support students and families in matters related to academic advising, including academic programming information and opportunities, course requirements, student summer plans, access to college visits and visitors, future scholarships, and college financial aid.
  • Encourage students and families to explore the broad range of educational opportunities at Culver and beyond and to be intentional about decisions.
  • Represent Culver and our students in conversations and formal writing with colleges and universities.
  • Collaborate as a team of advisors to provide consistency and collective wisdom to benefit all Culver students.
  • Learn continuously, staying abreast of current trends within academic programming and college admission through regular professional development and visits to colleges and universities.
