Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization.

We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives.

We will have an opening for a full-time Permanent Substitute Teacher (all certifications considered).


POSITION GOAL

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to the office upon arrival for checkin and reviews the plans and schedules for the day.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel.
  • Assumes the responsibility for overseeing student behavior in the classroom, during lunch, activity periods and outofclass settings.
  • Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following the absent teacher's lesson plans.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills.
  • Conduct yourself in a polite and professional manner with other staff members and building administrators.
  • Other duties may be required that are not enumerated here that are part of the classroom teacher's curriculum or duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching
  • Pennsylvania certification/private certification in teaching (ALL CERTIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED)
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
  • Basic computer literacy
