Overview:


At the direction of the Manager, the Project Manager, plans, directs, and manages the activities of designated project(s) to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters using the IT PMO methodology.


Responsibilities:


  • Initiate, plan, manage and execute small to medium Project(s) using Smartsheet, Excel, Word, OneNote, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Working with both onsite and with virtual teams to successfully implement IT Projects following the DH IT PMO Methodology.
  • Creates and maintains Project Plans, Milestones, Project Dashboards, Charters/ Scope Documents, Issues, Risks, Actions and Decision logs, Stakeholder Registers, Communication Plans, Budgets, Resources and forecasting as required for each project.
  • Demonstrate selfdirection and manage assigned small to medium projects from inception through completion including initiating, developing, executing, and monitoring project status and resource plans.
  • Plan, manage and facilitate regular project status meetings by developing agendas and topics according to the plan, develop and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner.
  • Create risk assessment/mitigation plans with project teams under the direction of a Sr. PM or Manager, and present to Project Sponsors.
  • Collaboratively works as a liaison to coordinate activities and communicate with operations and technical staff.
  • Manage scope for assigned projects.
  • Proactively communicate with project teams, collaboratively working as a liaison to coordinate activities and communicate with operations and technical staff for mutual understanding. Present verbal and written information effectively in small and medium group settings.
  • Manages and follows Project Change Control Process.
  • Develop and design Project sites using SharePoint. Perform SharePoint help desk and administrative tasks for assigned projects.
  • Independently manage workload, and exercise initiative to learn new skills to improve performance and efficiency for Project Management support.
  • Contribute to updating and maintaining the DH IT PMO Project Methodology & Training material as assigned.
  • Understand complex and varied processes or multiple department needs as well as the basics of the health care industry.
  • Work closely with the Manager or Senior PM to perform project financial and resource management for their assigned project.
  • Provide project management support activities under the guidance of a Senior PM or IS PMO Manager for large scale project (s) or program (s) that are defined as strategic or high visible projects.
  • Demonstrate initiative through active and appropriate participation consulting the team on project plan activities, issues and risks in meetings, as well as the ability and willingness to assume more responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 24 months leading projects (36 months needed for PMP)
  • 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPMCertification

  • Associate's degree (or global equivalent)
  • 48 months leading projects (60 months needed for PMP)
  • 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPMCertification
  • Experience:
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on teams desired. Must be selfdirected, flexible, and have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • PMP or CAPM Certification within 1 year.
  • 3 years project management experience
