As an _SAT/ACT Reading and Writing Tutor _for Loudoun Test Prep, you'll be responsible for helping students build their skill set and confidence as they approach the reading and writing sections of these standardized tests.

We specialize in small-group and individual tutoring over several testing seasons.

You'll be talking to parents about student progress and helping students find the best way to gain measured improvements over eight weeks.

Consistent schedules grow the best relationship with students at LTP.


Hours:
Classes are taught in 8-week sessions. Individual tutoring is scheduled around class schedules. Consistent availability during any 8 week session is vital to success for instructors and students.

eg:

If you say you're only available on Saturdays and Sundays, you would be assigned classes or individual tutoring on those days.

• Monday-Thursday: _5:00 pm 9:00 pm
• Saturday/Sunday_: 10:00 am 6:00 pm

*Some individual tutoring may occur before and/or after these times.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Plan sessions with students based on scores and targeted weak areas in Reading and Writing
• Assign homework expressly for the purpose of helping students improve: no busy work
• Ensure that all approaches and interactions with student encourage psychological wellbeing

Qualifications:

• Completion of a BA/BS in English, Social Sciences or Educational Studies highly encouraged to apply
• Experience taking standardized tests is highly desirable
• Practice SAT assessment required after initial interview
• Communicating effectively with students and parents
• Teaching various methods and approaches to help students understand the reading and writing concepts that they're struggling with as it relates to the SAT/ACT exam
• Reliable, approachable, and punctual
• Ability to problem solve and think critically in different situations

Experience:
Tutoring/Teaching: 2 years (preferred)
