Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut, P.C., established in 1979 is located in Newtown with locations in New Milford, Ridgefield, and Southbury.

Our offices are open six days a week and evening hours are available. The medical practice consists of three board-certified dermatologists, four Physician Assistant and two Aestheticians.

We are a general and cosmetic state of the art dermatology and dermatological surgery practice providing care to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and senior patients.


Dermatology Associates of Western CT is seeking a full time Medical Assistant for our busy multi-provider/multi-location practice primarily based in Newtown.

Must be able to work 30+ hrs per week and occasionally some evenings and Saturdays as scheduled.

The MA must be ambitious, flexible, highly motivated, and an excellent multi-tasker; s/he must be able to adapt quickly and work at a fast pace to join our team in cutting edge general and cosmetic dermatology.

Strong computer technology (EMR), interpersonal and communication skills a must. Medical practice experience is required, preferably with Dermatology/surgical knowledge. Our MAs are required to work in all of our office locations, Newtown, New Milford, Ridgefield and Southbury.

Some of the job requirements are:

  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination and treatment. Prepare patient for surgery by explaining the procedure and help alleviate fear and concerns.
  • Chart patient data including medical and medication history.
  • Clean and stock examination rooms of all offices, as well as prepare rooms for next day care.
  • Maintain medical supplies (stock & order) and equipment for satellite offices.
  • Obtain laboratory specimens as appropriate.
  • Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow.
  • Assist the clinical staff members with medical examinations, procedures, etc.
  • Educate prospective phototherapy patients on all aspects of phototherapy treatment.
  • Administer phototherapy treatments and document patient progress/response in patient chart.
  • Arrange and assist with surgical procedures as required.
  • Deliver patient education per practice policies and procedures.
  • Execute patient followup via the telephone and /or written correspondence as required.
  • Flexibly work at any practice location as scheduled or needed.
