SUMMARY


The Purchasing Supervisor supports and facilitates the manufacture of quality products by effectively managing the procurement of various inventories, including OSP and MRO material.

The supervisor also manages processes, facilities, and sound business relationships to meet or exceed the company's goals and objectives.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Measure supplier performance and take the proper steps to assure compliance and improvement.
  • Manage approved supplier list.
  • Negotiate pricing and monitor supplier performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and document all processes for AS9100.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5Srelated performance teams.
  • Document cost reductions through our PPV process.
  • Review, analyze, and execute all MRP action messages regarding cancellations and reschedules in and out.
  • Communicate alignment issues to internal customers.
  • Supervise and administrate procedures and purchasing personnel.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Perform auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with industry or governmental regulations.
  • Ensure timely annual review of direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of manufacturing purchasing management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete the first module of the APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program or equivalent within one year of employment is required.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
  • Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.

JOB SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and SAP.
  • Understand purchasing and supply chain systems.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations.
  • Understand purchasing laws, corporate laws, and limitations.
  • Contract review experience and familiarity with purchasing normal terms and conditions.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decisionmaking skills.
  • Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment are preferred.
  • Ability to review, plan, and execute as the MRP system requires.
  • Ability to be flexible and function comfortably in a fastpaced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible, willing to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects and meet customer demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
