The role of the Business Area Manager (BAM) involves acting as a connection point between program management, contracts, finance, project planning, leadership, and customers regarding various contract-related business matters.

The key responsibility of the Project Manager - BAM is to oversee and manage the GA-ASI Proposal Process related to the AMS P&L. The BAM ensures that proposals are consistently and promptly prepared to streamline the review and approval process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Sr. Directors with Integrated Contract and Financial Management by summarizing key contract and financial program elements periodically.
  • Establish, update, and manage budgets in the following areas:
    • Bid & Proposal (B&P)
    • Internal Research & Development (IRAD)
    • Overhead/Staffing
    • Capital Projects
  • Offer internal training and mentoring to Program Managers, Proposal Managers, and other AMS employees unfamiliar with GA-ASI processes.
  • Provide oversight, management, and support for proposal development to Program/Proposal Manager.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Finance, and Contracts on Forecast and At-Risk requests.
  • Handle AMS P&L facilities space planning.
  • Offer budgeting support for Bid & Proposal (B&P), Independent Research and Development (IRAD), Capital, and Business Base requests.
  • Interpret and enforce policies, processes, and procedures affecting projects.
  • Create progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Identify and resolve project issues towards meeting productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Provide support for various ad-hoc business management needs as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and at least nine years of progressively challenging experience in project administration, with a minimum of three years in project management. Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Must have a deep understanding of project management processes, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management. Should demonstrate the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate work effectively to meet set milestones and budgets.
  • Key skills needed:
    • Capability to initiate, plan, and oversee projects.
    • Aptitude to identify issues, analyze data, and develop solutions for various complex matters.
    • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment.

Salary: $81,190 - $145,338
