- Work with the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer objectives, and develop the strategy to resolve technical roadblocks.
- Manage the pre-sales technical relationship with PERFORMIVE customers, including overseeing product and solution demonstrations, proof-of-concept, and coordination of additional engineering resources as needed
- Be the trusted technical advisor for Performive's prospects, customers, and partners and educate them on the value of our services.
- Contribute to deal documentation, including deep & wide contact mapping, tracking/ROI data, current environment summary, pain points, competition, priorities, and ideal end-state function
- Participate in current customer QBRs sharing technical consumption data and suggesting additional product and service areas that PERFORMIVE can provide value
- Build relationships with technical team members in partners and key vendors
- Participate in technical discussions with prospects, customers, and partners to gather requirements that aid in the design of technical solutions
- Provide technical demonstrations, presentations, and guided walk-throughs of Performive's service portfolios and service features.
- Provide quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Performive values
- Provide RFP responses, technical drawings, presentations, statements of work, and technical recommendations
- Understanding of network architecture and troubleshooting (switches, firewalls, routers & load balancers)
- Demonstrable technical skills, especially in cloud computing, hosted applications, storage solutions, backup solutions, networking, integration/development technologies, and IT outsourcing.
- Experience presenting complex technical topics to technical and business audiences
- Working knowledge of common IT systems & packaged applications such as Windows & Linux Servers, messaging applications, file systems, directory systems, and other related technologies
- Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services
- Proven experience in supporting your sales counterpart during a sales process in identifying additional opportunities and assisting in driving opportunities to closure
- Experience as a pre-sales engineer selling complex, technical solutions
- Understanding of VMware-based Cloud solutions and Managed Services products
- Good understanding and practical experience with VMware and Veeam product sets utilized across both public and private cloud
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows and Linux
- Knowledge of the Midsized Enterprise market, Performives' customer profile, and its' technology stack
- Knowledge and confidence in the sales process and pricing strategies
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently within deadlines
- Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers, and coworkers.

- Storage Area Networks, as well as VSAN and iSCSI knowledge, are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Performive is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable Solutions Engineer (SE). The Solutions Engineer will collaborate with and support the Sales, Marketing, and Technical Teams on major business objectives. SEs build customer trust in PERFORMIVE solutions, which results in customer success in the post-sale. The SE leads the technical pre-sales relationship, proposes technical architectures, demonstrates the product, anticipates concerns, and offers creative solutions.
The PERFORMIVE Solutions Engineer is both a highly technical and skilled relationship builder. This position is for an engineer who thrives on detailed documentation creation, including High-Level Architecture, to support customer acceptance, proper provisioning, and post-sales support. SEs work together with the Sales and Marketing teams, contributing to enablement, training, content, and collateral as needed while also providing market research when necessary to provide competitive insight and analysis to increase the closed-won ratio.
Within this position, you will support Performive sales representatives directly with customers to drive opportunities to closure.
