AFA History:

AFA was founded in 2002 by a family caregiver to ensure families affected by Alzheimer's disease always had a place to turn for guidance, support, and services.


AFA Mission Statement:

The mission of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.


Position Summary:

Supports the Director of Development and the Development team in executing events and other programs and provides logístical and administrative support.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team showing both strong initiatives to reach individual goals as well as supports the overall team goals.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists in the coordination, planning, and execution of donor cultivation events.
  • Coordinate, track, and report event registration and attendance.
  • Accurately track events costs and keep a detailed financial record for each event.
  • Assist in the solicit for inkind donors.
  • Create, send and track invites for various events.
  • Coordinate and setup quarterly donor call campaigns.
  • Conduct research on vendors, venues, and other event aspects as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination and selection event volunteers.
  • Provide support pre, dayofevent and post logistics and timelines for fundraising events.
  • Assist with other projects and development tasks as assigned by the Director of Development.
**Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's Degree, or combination of education and experience. Comfortable using databases and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, oral, and written communication skills. A self-starter that prioritizes multiple projects to meet deadlines and produces accurate results.

Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team showing strong initiative to reach individual goal as well as support the overall team goals.
