Summary:
The Platting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating multiple projects within the Southeast Texas area and coordinating projects throughout the entire plat submittal and approval process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researching zoning laws, planning regulations, and other legal requirements related to land use for platting regulations.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple projects throughout the platting process. Including creating, managing, and ensuring project timelines are met.
- Working with clients, engineers, and architects to develop land plans.
- Interact with clients regarding project status and updates.
- Draft and revise plats based on municipality requirements and clients land plans.
- Additional Duties as assigned for business needs.
- This position will require the ability to work with a team.
- Schedule and assign platting requirements to the specialized team members to ensure execution for submittal & recordations
- Conduct/attend any meetings regarding the plat, including but not limited to the predevelopment meeting, planning commission, commissioners court, consultations, HOA/Civic Clubs, Recordation meetings, etc...
- Communicate and coordinate with surveyors, engineers, architects, etc... for plat recordation requirements.
- Preparing daily and weekly updates in project management software
- Identify opportunities for improvement in both the quality of our responses and the efficiency of the response process.
- Flexibility to meet deadlines and work extra hours where required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 1 year experience dealing directly in the Subdivision Platting industry; either with the city/county, surveying, or engineering firms
- Knowledge of City of Houston Chapter 42 subdivision ordinances of city planning as they pertain to land development
- Proficient with the AutoCAD experience
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
- Selfstarter and ability to listen and execute directions
- Confident, flexible, and resilient team player
- Strategic and effective time management skills
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning or a related field
- Bilingual
