Duties:

As an entry
- level trainee, the incumbent will have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of IT business concepts and be provided with foundational job-related knowledge & skills. The incumbent will assist senior staff members by performing a variety of entry level Information Technology duties with an increasing degree of difficulty and responsibility. As a student trainee, the OCIO will introduce our future IT leaders to the FCC mission in Information Technology and share with them the importance of working on problems of national importance and experience the excitement of success built on hard work and innovation
within FCC's OCIO Front Office.

Must maintain at least half-time enrollment status as defined by your school.

Qualifications:


  • A degree seeking student in the field of
    Information Technology and must be actively in pursuit of an undergraduate Bachelor's Degree.
  • Enrolled in a school that has been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Enrolled at least halftime as defined by your school.
  • Be in good academic standing (i.e., must have at least a
    3.0 GPA or its equivalent).
  • Students must provide a Cover Letter describing their interest in the position.
  • Must provide at least three professional references.
  • US Citizen or if you are not a citizen you must meet one the following criteria: 1. owe permanent allegiance to the United States (for example, natives of American Samoa and Swains Island); 2. be a lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)(B); or 3. be admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157 or have been granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. 1158 and have filed a declaration of intention to become lawful permanent resident and then citizen when eligible.

GS-5: Must be actively enrolled in an accredited, undergraduate, Information Technology Bachelor's Degree program.

CITIZEN EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
