Overview:


THe Phone Operator represents the RICC and AMP both in person and on the phone as initial contact for prospective clients, guests, the general public, and company inquiries.

The Phone Operator will also assist guests with event questions, information and route necessary calls to appropriate personnel.

This position pays a wage of $20-$22 per hour.

About the Venue:


Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Providence, the RICC is within walking distance to restaurants, hotels, shops, art galleries, night clubs, museums and more.

We offer 100,000 square feet of exhibition space, 20,000 square feet of ballroom space, 23 meeting rooms, and 30,000 square feet of pre-function space.


Responsibilities:


  • Answer incoming calls to the AMP.
  • Assist with guest or clients with general questions and inquiries.
  • Daily process incoming mail; sort, open and distribute to various departments
  • Perform filing or other office related work
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays, as events require
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining strong attention to details
  • Exceptional customer service skills—professional, outgoing and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Excellent computer, typing, dataentry skills in a Windows format. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
