Gulf Pacific Rice LLC ("GP") is the leading upstream rice ingredients and organic rice processor and merchandiser in the US.
Job Summary:
Stores materials, goods, MRO, and products in the right locations to feed the business's operational and production demands, maintaining a FIFO system, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse packaging materials and products to feed business operation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, and deliveries of product to production.
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
- Manage stock control, including performing monthly physical counts.
- Plan work, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results with a team of 1 or 2 operators.
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees.
- Produce reports and statistics regularly.
- Unloading / Accepting delivery vehicles for inbound packaging materials, including paperwork
- Signing for inbound shipments upon receipt and verifying that the correct merchandise / qty has been received.
- Thoroughly inspect merchandise for any damage and discrepancies and report to management.
- Using forklifts, standing forklift, hand carts, or pallet jacks to load, unload, move, stack, and arrange stock accordingly.
- Strategically storing merchandise to maximize storage space within the warehouse.
- Ensure delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production standards, which includes picking, count and delivery packaging needs for production orders or requests to multiple production lines.
- Take packaging back from production areas to properly store back.
- Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of work environment.
- Counting and confirming inventory, during physical inventories, cycle counts and annual physical counts.
- Input data regarding stock and inventory into the ERP system.
- Keep paperwork up to date.
- And other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- High school or technical supply chain diploma.
- A valid forklift license. The ability to safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Good numeracy and IT skills
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items
- 5 + years of Proven experience in a food warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is a plus.
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
- Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Team player, that could also work independently with or without supervision.
- Maintain and achieve OSHA safety standards.
- Effective communication skills.
- Detailoriented.
- Bilingual preferred.
General
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Occasionally work outside of office hours to provide support for night shifts and weekend shifts.
- The ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective relationships with employees.
