COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this position.

NY HELPS:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination.

Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.

While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title SG-4 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law.

Duties Description

Under the direction of a Criminal Justice Program Specialist 2 within the Office of Public Safety, the Office Assistant 1 will provide administrative support for the Course Approvals Unit.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Respond to technical questions and address issues related to Police Officer training records.
Process training transactions: provide phone coverage and answering technical questions related to the submission and/or processing of law enforcement training records.
Process incoming training records within the Acadis system.
Assist with dissemination of interoffice communications.
Perform hardcopy and electronic filing of program records.
