Job Brief

We are seeking a dedicated laborer to assist with various manual tasks at one of our job sites in Columbia, VA.

Your role will involve operating landscaping and mowing equipment, transporting materials, and performing general site preparation and maintenance. You will work in various outdoor conditions and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. This position requires a hardworking individual who is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, health, and safety.

Core Areas of Responsibility.

Perform manual labor.
Assist, support, and follow the directions of skilled laborers.
General landscaping to include operating landscaping equipment operation, skidsteer, bush hog, weed whacking, weed whacking, and trimming vegetation.
Operate a fieldtype tractor and attached or towed a mower or cutter bar for rightofway mowing.
Maneuver tractors/equipment alongside highway traffic and in confined areas such as between shrubs, trees, along fences, and curbs.
Transport materials and equipment.
Spend extended hours mowing in tractors.
Operate under varied conditions, such as heat, rain, and in areas where trees and shrubs present operational hazards.
Adjust equipment for job requirements, such as setting the height of mower blades.
Operate a weed eater.
Perform adjustments and minor maintenance on equipment operated.
Utilize basic hand tools when needed.
May be required to shovel or rake materials.
Must be safetyminded and adhere to all safety policies.
Additional requirements as directed by the foreman/leadman.

Able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.) for an hour workday.
Able to independently operate various fieldtype tractors, mowers and other landscaping tools.
The ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions.
Interpersonal competencies include a drive for results, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, dependable behavior, and cooperation.
Good housekeeping standards and ability to observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Heavy Construction labor experience is preferred.

18 years of Age
Able to Pass a Drug Test
Legally Eligible to Work in the US
If assigned to a government project, US citizenship, and a clear background check may be required.
Must have own transportation to and from job site every workday (driver's license not required)
