    Job Title: Senior CAD Technician - DOT Surveying

    Location: Nashville, TN or Murfreesboro, TN

    Looking for a full-time Senior CAD Technician skilled in Department of Transportation (DOT) surveying. Join a team that provides crucial surveying office support for transportation land surveyors and contributes significantly to various projects. The Senior DOT CAD Technician will collaborate closely with field staff, CAD technicians, civil engineers, and land surveyors to aid clients in developing transportation surveys.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with Bentley software to create site plans following DOT specifications.
    • Analyze field survey data.
    • Assist in collecting information for survey scope and field data collection, and oversee field crews as needed.
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed plans.
    • Provide guidance to other DOT Technicians.
    • Organize and manage site data and plans.
    • Conduct occasional field tasks like site inspections and quality assurance.
    • Carry out additional related tasks as necessary.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5-8+ years of DOT drafting experience for transportation surveys.
    • Strong grasp and application of surveying principles.
    • Meet project deadlines effectively in a team setting.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
    • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
    • Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency in DOT drafting using Geopak, OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
    • Experience with DOT surveying and engineering design projects.
    • Skilled in creating exhibits and drafting descriptions.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or equivalent.
    • Drafting experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Proficiency in Trimble Business Center.
    • 2+ years of field surveying experience.
