We want your knowledge and expertiseJob Summary and Qualifications:
As an Environmental Services Technician you will perform a wide-range of general cleaning tasks throughout the hospital campus, including patient rooms, office space, cafeteria, etc.
You will be responsible for the knowledge of sanitary precautions as well as the appropriate safety procedures of industrial cleaning agents and equipment.
This position will require you to have an understanding of proper handling and disposal of hazardous and biological waste as well as blood and body fluids.
- You will provide cleaning services as directed with consideration for Patients, their family and friends
- You will follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures related to the housekeeping function
- You will observe patient's rights by announcing yourself before entering a patients room
- You will protect physical assets used on the job, use supplies sparingly, account for them accurately, protect and maintain all equipment used
- You will follow all departmental procedures when handling biohazardous waste, ensuring that all red bags are tied off and/or taped as per Infection Control policies and procedures
What qualifications you will need:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Two years' experience providing environmental services in a healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to read, write and converse in English required
Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and a 24-hour behavioral health support hotline.
