Purpose and Scope_**Under the supervision of the Director of Family Catechesis and Evangelization, develops, organizes, and implements formational opportunities for Youth in 5th - 8th Grade, and leads the Lisieux Sorority for young girls.

This person should be able to communicate a love for our Faith while fostering spiritual growth, intimacy with our Lord and His Church, and active participation in the life of the Church through preparation in and celebration of the Sacraments.

This position is responsible for developing opportunities for Grade School Youth to hear and respond to the Gospel message, aides and participates in the Sunday Sacramental Process of Grade School Youth, and works closely with families of Youth, Catechists, Volunteers, and Parish Staff.

• Plans and implements Grade School Youth Ministry events for the parish and weekly evening programming.
• Develops positive working relationships and communication with Youth, parents, families, volunteers, and teaching staff.
• Supports the Sacramental processes in collaboration with the entire Department.
• Engages in professional formation opportunities and stays informed of trends in Youth ministry, theology, and methodology.
• Plans Grade School Youth Retreat offerings.
• Assists the Director with outreach efforts to recruit, develop and expand the current volunteer base.
• Assists with catechetical training of team members.
• Assists in summer program offerings such as Vacation Bible School.

• Maintains current ministry records (registration, attendance, financial and Sacramental) as required by Parish and/or Diocesan policy.
• Promotes Grade School Youth ministry opportunities through various means (bulletin, website, public speaking appeals, flyers, media).
• Attends professional formation, Diocesan training, and coordinator meetings as requested.
• Maintains effective ongoing communication with families.
• Performs any other jobrelated duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required_**- Engage in ongoing professional formation; participate in Diocesan workshops and seminars, and courses in methodology and theology where needed.

• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously; detail oriented; and can meet established deadlines.
• Possesses good planning, organizational and budgeting skills.
• Available to work nights and some weekends.
• Demonstrates professional work conduct and maintains good working relationships with Staff and volunteers.
• Possesses good verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to use technology to promote and publicize ministry programs and opportunities.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook).

• Must be a practicing active Roman Catholic, faithfilled, spirit driven, selfmotivated, creative, energetic, organized, and reliable.
• Experience in working with Youth/Children's ministries and programs.
• Bachelor's degree (Religious Education or Theology or National Credential in Youth Ministry; Franciscan University/Kino Institute/FOCUS preferred) or background in theology and educational methodologies with a willingness to move toward credential or degree.
• Must have valid Arizona Driver License, current automobile insurance and willingness to travel for Parish business as well as attend conferences as applicable.
