Who we are looking for:


We are looking to hire a strong, experienced leader to manage the financial aspects of a successful institute and medical practice.

You must have excellent senior-level financial management skills and track record (minimum 3-5 years) with experience in Quickbooks (online or desktop), accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll to handle our Practice accounts.

We are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented leader who will take pride and ownership in leading the financial aspects of the practice during this exciting high-growth moment.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties for the company.

This includes invoicing customers, entering and paying vendor invoices, classifying transactions, reviewing and reconciling accounts with bank statements, processing payroll, and preparing Income Statements and Balance Sheet reports.

You will have excellent project management skills, and a good eye for detail, plus exceptional financial acumen and experience optimizing a medical practice for increased revenues.


Position Summary:

Supports, and is responsible for, the financial operations of a two-surgeon surgical practice with an integrated, PhD-led research institute with over four locations throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey and growing.

Leads financial functions and management of all business accounts and all related areas. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business financials to improve practice growth. Reports directly to the Practice Owner. Leads revenue cycle management and finance initiatives. Handles multiple projects simultaneously.


Roles and Responsibilities:


This role is responsible for maintaining efficient financial operations of a multi-physician, research-led spine surgery practice working with medical, research, and non-medical staff.

You will be the leader responsible for orchestrating the various aspects of the business that create our overall revenue success.

This position is the financial team lead and is responsible for the growth and continued success of the Practice.

  • Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for the company.
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconciling cash, bank accounts, and revenues.
  • Maintaining an accurate general ledger, making adjustments as needed.
  • Creating journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets and liabilities.
  • Monitoring the business' cash flow.
  • Issuing invoices to and collecting payments from customers.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Remitting payroll, income, sales and use taxes
  • Maintaining compliance with all local, city, state and federal permits, business licenses, and business tax obligations.
  • Processing employees' timesheets and managing payroll.
  • Collecting information for auditing purposes
  • Collating, entering, and paying vendor expenses.
  • Work in coordination with our outside CPA firm to prepare books for taxes.
  • Work with us as we build the Institute to increase grant awards and manage grant funding and distribution.

Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Bookkeeping certification.
  • Quickbooks experience.
  • Quickbooks certification a plus.
  • Previous experience as a fullcharge bookkeeper.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software.
  • Experience preparing financial statements.
  • Ability to work to a strict deadline.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Minimum of 35 years seniorlevel financial experience.
  • Demonstrate business and analytic/financial skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
