KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions of parts and configuration or patterns and cuts for proper machining and fabrication of parts including:Calculate radii of simple and complex irregular curves using computer assistCreate simple and complex patterns and parts using CAD/CAM programEstablish optimum path and maximum use of materials and tooling including location of tool set point, starting point and cutter change pointsPrepare programs, set-up directions and instruction for CNC operators (including step-by-step directions for movement of machine cutter, change-point in three dimensional coordinates and data, machine cutting parameters, laser power, cutting gas types and pressure settings)Verify and edit code generation for accuracy and efficiency; maintain and update code filesFor some machines, transform two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional objects for machiningFor some machines, transform three-dimensional objects into flat pattern parts for fabricationPending plant location, operate burn table or laser table as neededAct, live, and behave by TCF Core ValuesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred2+ years recent numeric control operations and programming experienceAbility to determine reference points, machine cutting paths and hole locations and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvaturesAbility to perform and prioritize multiple projects simultaneouslyProficient in reading and interpreting 3D and 2D modelsPractical experience with conventional machining equipmentCAD/CAM program experience preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
