    Job Summary:
    The Portfolio Manager provides crucial support to the President of Community Banking and/or Market President and/or Market President.

    Responsibilities include overseeing the loan process from application to closing, ensuring proper documentation of the current loan portfolio in adherence to loan agreements and approvals, and identifying potential risks.

    Delivering high-quality service to clients involves addressing their needs and inquiries via phone, in person, or email.

    The Portfolio Manager also gathers information for new loan requests, collaborates with the President of Community Banking and/or Market President and/or Market President on preparing, underwriting loan packages and proposals, and coordinates with Lending Assistant teams to ensure proper loan documentation and closure with borrowers when necessary.

    With a comprehensive understanding of various loan types and related requirements, the Portfolio Manager can independently navigate to meet these requirements.

    They actively monitor the current loan portfolio to identify and mitigate risks, while also maintaining up-to-date loan files.

    Additionally, they possess knowledge of all deposit and Treasury Services products, as well as other services offered to commercial clients.

    Operating under minimal supervision, the Portfolio Manager provides vital support to the Community Banking President and/or Market President, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional service delivery.


    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
    This list includes the current primary responsibilities of this position.

    It is not intended to be all-inclusive and is subject to change, as needed, for the purpose of operational efficiency.

    Represents the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly and professional manner at all times, including direct client contact, as well as telephone, email and other methods of communication.

    Manages the loan process for the President of Community Banking and/or Market President, from gathering information for loan applications through loan closing.

    Interface Collaborate with the Lending Assistant staff to properly document new loans.
    Assist President of Community Banking and/or Market President in gathering information from borrower in order to properly underwrite credits.
    Assist with past dues, coming due loan maturities, including gathering updated information and obtaining approval for renewals.
    Close loan transactions when necessary.
    Assist with drafting loan proposals for renewals.
    Monitor and assist with past due loan payments.
    Monitor and serve as point person to clear / manage loan exceptions.
    Monitor DDA deficit balance report to minimize the risk to the bank.
    Solicit additional business from current customer base when appropriate to enhance relationships and solve customer issues.
    Process loan advance/draw requests for proper approval.
    Disburses loan funds in compliance with Borrowing Base parameters, loan agreements and other bank funding approval requirements.
    Monitor construction loans to ensure compliance with budget, inspection reports and loan agreements.
    Assist and provide training as needed for Lending Assistant position(s).
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education Requirements:
    High school diploma or equivalent required.
    Some college or technical training and/or previous commercial banking experience preferred.

    Qualification Requirements:
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
    Ability to work with detailed information in an efficient and accurate manner, while meeting established deadlines.
    Proficient typing and computer skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office Tools, and the Bank's current software system.
    Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    Motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
    Ability to work well with customers and co-workers.
    Ability to analyze and resolve issues making sound judgments.
    Ability to read, comprehend, and evaluate detailed and complex loan documents.
    Thorough understanding and familiarity of the bank's loan policies and procedures.
    Thorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues encountered in the completion and closing of complex personal and commercial loans.

    Experience Requirements:


    Have at least two years of progressively responsible work experience, showcasing expertise in preparing, underwriting and managing loan documents, particularly in handling complex commercial loans.


    Physical Requirements:
    Normal office activity.
    May require long periods of typing and repetitive motion.
    Occasional day and overnight travel required to East Texas.
