Description
Maintenance Associates are responsible for ensuring that facilities are clean and in good operating condition.

Their responsibilities may include cleaning buildings and rooms, and performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment.


  • Provide daily maintenance in resident apartments and throughout the community as assigned.
  • Responsible for assessing, assigning, and follow up on daily work orders.
  • Ensure completed work orders are filled properly and turned in to designated area.
  • Analyze mechanical data regarding heat and water problems.
  • Perform daily repairs to all common areas throughout the community.
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance and/or perform work on pumps, motors, fans, emergency generators, heating, air conditioning, domestic water, refrigerator, electrical, and swimming pool systems.
  • Provide preventative maintenance on all tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in maintaining inventory and tool control.
  • Keep maintenance work area neat and clean.
  • Report missing tools to the Maintenance Director promptly.
  • Report structural damage, equipment in need of repair, and all other repair needs to the Maintenance Director.
  • Report safety hazards to the Maintenance Director, Executive Director, or Manager on Duty immediately.
  • Respond to all emergency or priority issues with 15 seconds
  • Assist with any housekeeping functions as assigned.
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
  • Assist with cleaning/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
  • Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc
(NOTE:

Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)

  • Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, reference check, Physical and PPD evaluation.
  • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously and interact appropriately with others.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with associates and residents.
  • Must be willing to be crosstrained with other departments.
  • Professional in attitude, demeanor and dress.
  • Must contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Treat all associates with respect.
  • Must ensure that residents' rights are maintained all the time.
  • Must promote positive relationships with residents and family members
  • Attend all mandatory training and ongoing training as requested.
  • Attend all mandatory department meetings.
  • Attend all mandatory allstaff meetings.
  • Follow all policies and procedures for your department and your community.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local regulations for your department
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to adjust to many types of personalities and situations.
  • Must have aptitude for dementiarelated situations.
  • Realization that incompetence and errors may have serious consequences for residents.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to assist residents based on what cognitive level they are experiencing.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition

$ $35.00 per hour
