    Welcome to our team at the Commercial Building Engineer position in Indianapolis, IN!



    The Building Engineer is a key player in ensuring our building runs smoothly. In this role, you will be the face of our company, interacting with tenants and vendors.

    You'll be in charge of all building and grounds maintenance tasks, overseeing 3rd party services, construction projects, general upkeep, in-house repairs, and maintenance programs.

    Additionally, you will manage external contractors handling mechanical equipment, access control systems, and fire and life safety facilities.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise facility maintenance, including mechanical and HVAC systems, electrical work, landscaping, and access control.
    • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance tasks with in-house staff or external vendors.
    • Collaborate with the Property Management Team on building activities and tenant requests.
    • Regularly inspect mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
    • Offer recommendations for property improvement projects.
    • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.
    • Manage vendor procurement and bidding processes.
    • Assist with light painting and cleaning tasks as required.
    • Handle daily service requests and be available for after-hours building emergencies.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably in an engineering-related field.
    • Proficiency in HVAC, electrical work, and plumbing.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial building maintenance.
    • Thorough understanding of building systems operations and maintenance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills for tenant and vendor interactions.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks like stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.
