Logistics Associate for Seafood Division - Vernon, United States - Monarch Trading, LLC

Monarch Trading, a leading distributor and importer of seafood located in Vernon, California is seeking a full time positive, friendly and energetic individual to provide receiving and scheduling assistance for its Seafood Division.

The following skills are critical for success:

• Experience scheduling container pickups from freight terminals
• Experience communicating and working with freight forwarders
• Knowledge and experience with the term's "drayage", "last free day", "container line hold" and "pick up status".

Specific duties for this position in a fast-paced environment include:

• Scheduling pick up for incoming international shipments
• Following up with freight companies to determine if there are any "line hold" issues and resolve successfully.
• Looking up online the status of incoming containers
• Determining the proper treatment if the incoming shipment is overweight or has any special equipment requirements
• Effectively communicating and coordinating pickups and deliveries with freight drivers and the destination warehouses
• Scheduling empty cargo returns on time to avoid perdiem charges

Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
