With the exception of those hired with the temporary/seasonal designation, all team members are employed under the Variable Hours designation. Actual hours worked will be averaged after the first year of consecutive employment in position to determine each member's FT or PT status going forward.

ROLE PURPOSE


The Bartender at RISING TIDE tap & table is a key contributor to the guest experience - personifying our brand promise.

All actions by this individuals in this position should represent the brand principles - "Crafted, Crave-able, Gather Round & Share, Big Hearted and Travel & Guide." Knowledgably serves the craft beer selection, wines, and accurately mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to Guests of bar and service bar following standard recipes and the company's policies; merchandises drinks; and is attentive to Guests, making them feel welcome, at all times.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Greets guests within 2 minutes and maintains a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • ID all Guests ordering alcoholic beverages who appear to be 40 years old or younger.
  • Properly and promptly prepare, garnish, and serve drinks to Guests.
  • Engages with Guests by providing information and samples of signature products, especially the craft beer selections.
  • If the Guest is ordering food, sets up the Guest with place setting, follows same service protocol as Server, and coordinates food delivery with Food Runner.
  • Knows the menu & chalkboard to make appropriate beverage and food recommendations.
  • Highlights craft beer/wine/specialty drinks/after dinner drinks/deserts and upsells when appropriate.
  • Keeps a clean, organized bar area and provides place settings to guests when food is ordered.
  • Creates a seamless experience by reading each Guest's needs and providing all necessary items condiments, plates, etc.
  • Accurately rings up all orders in the POS system while maintaining ability to socialize with Guests. Processes payments for guests in an accurate and timely manner
  • Remains actively engaged with guests and the business behind the bar.
  • Communicates, coordinates and partners with fellow Bartenders, Barback if assigned, and MOD to cover any need to leave bar area for an extended period of time.
  • Builds Guests count by role modeling the brand and building a regular clientele.
  • Strictly adheres to responsible alcohol service standards and can proactively and successfully deal with signs of intoxication with a Guest when necessary.

  • Possesses, and continues to expand, solid base of craft beer, beverage and food knowledge
  • Guest and team member feedback on quality of service, productivity, relationships and partnership (minimum standards to be set by internal metrics)
  • Keeping a clean and presentable Bar area
  • 100% Recipe adherence
  • 100% Cash handling adherence per company policy

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be dressed neatly and wellgroomed in company approved dress code at all times
  • Must be able to mix and/or serve drinks quickly and accurately in a fastpaced, high volume environment
  • Must follow standards of Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Must meet local jurisdiction requirements, including but not limited to obtaining required certifications
  • Must be able to operate P.O.S. system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions
  • Must be able to calmly respond to angry Guests and notify a Manager
  • Must be able to pass initial and annual validation
  • Must be able to respond clearly to Guests' requests
  • Must be able to hear well amongst loud background noise
  • Must be able to frequently lift 30 lb. cases and carry short distances, up or down stairs
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir and wipe
  • Must be able to frequently immerse hands in hot water (every 5 minutes)
