    Description


    The Deep Space Exploration (DSE) Program Quality Manager is responsible for leading a team with oversight over multiple missions exploring deep space – Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and beyond.

    The leader in this position will inspire a team of engineers to execute to a strategic plan in a manner to consistently drives improvement to our processes, reduces variation in our products, and ensures Mission Success.

    This Quality Engineering Manager position will operate 90% out of the Lucent Facility in Highlands Ranch, CO and 10% out of the Waterton facility in Littleton, CO and will support multiple programs within the Commercial Civil Space (CCS) line of business.

    This role supports programs focused on Deep Space Exploration including Lunar Trailblazer (LTB), OSIRIS-REx, Dragonfly, DAVINCI, and Mars Sample Return.

    The programs in this market are science and exploration focused and this leader will be responsible for growing their team in alignment with mission objectives and budgets in order to ensure mission success.

    This position is responsible for owning all elements of the Quality Management System for programs within the Deep Space Exploration market segment.

    This leader should have strong knowledge of Quality Systems (AS9100 or similar), experience developing requirements, and an understanding of Supply Chain Quality processes.

    This position also has technical oversight and responsibility on programs for the following functions under the Safety and Mission Assurance organization:
    Hardware and Software Quality Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Materials and Processes Engineering, EEE Parts Engineering, & Systems Safety Engineering.

    This candidate must have experience successfully leading others, growing teams, and developing and deploying a cohesive strategy to meet organizational objectives.

    The leader who fills this role must be a proven team player and a motivated change agent.

    The selected candidate will have leadership responsibility for a team of 8-10 Quality Engineers and will be responsible for growing that team in alignment with mission goals.

    This candidate is responsible for all associated QA personnel management functions including performance appraisals, setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitoring annual commitments, development of department specific goals, driving strategic initiatives, and capacity/budget management.

    This candidate must maintain open and effective communication with Lockheed Program Management, NASA Customer, and DCMA Customer counterparts for all matters that may impact mission assurance on the program.
