Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or graduation equivalency degree (GED). Knowledge of office procedures usually obtained from a certificate or Associates degree in a business program including administrative processes and procedures, preparing patient charts, and basic computer skills. Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred. Fluent in Spanish preferred.

Experience: Entry level, previous office administration or receptionist experience or a minimum of one year work experience in a medical office setting.

Skills or Other Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, basic knowledge of computers, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment. Telephone etiquette, customer service, basic word and excel programs, time management, multi-tasking, organization, scheduling


Job Summary/Responsibilities:


  • Answer incoming patient calls
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments or medical consultations.
  • Ensure patient information is accurate
  • Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • Answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
  • Transfer calls as required
  • Report statistics as required
  • Obtain external referrals/medical reports as required by medical professionals
  • Respond and comply to requests for information
  • Supports organizational changes. Demonstrates flexibility in providing coverage and/or availability for the call center via scheduling adjustments for unexpected absences, events, or call volume variances.
  • Complete other clerical duties as assigned
  • Maintain stock of forms and office supplies
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
