Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Legal Support Specialist in the Tax Department of our New York City office.

Position Summary:


Duties & Responsibilities- Acquires an in-depth understanding of client relationships and businesses to support client needs.- Understands and navigates firm resources to make recommendations to attorneys related to client support.- Provides case management for client matters and coordinates workflow within the team.- Ensures attorneys are complying with client requests and requirements, including client specific billing requirements.- Maintains legal files (both paper & electronic), organizes and files documents in designated order.- Updates case information, scans and organizes legal files.- Manages document deliveries and tracks final executed documentation.- Assists with overflow work and other projects as needed.- Attends team strategy meetings.- Collaborates and works with paralegals and other legal support team members where applicable.- Receives and evaluates telephone calls for supported attorneys, field calls and convey messages.

Communicates with clients, opposing counsel, courts, liaisons and colleagues as needed.- Processes time entries, opens new matters, and drafts engagement letters and audit responses.- Assists in the creation, editing, proofreading, and processing of legal documents such as correspondence, memoranda and other practice specific documents.- Makes travel arrangements, processes reimbursement expenses, maintains attorney calendars.- Collates information, prepares agendas, and reviews and prepares billing invoices.- Other special projects, as needed.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Must be skilled in handling administrative tasks such as attorney time entry, travel arrangements, and processing of invoices and expenses.
  • Problemsolving ingenuity and ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities.
  • Must be a selfstarter, organized, able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, including solid composition, research, and editing skills.
  • Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, large law firm environment is highly desired.
The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000.

Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.
