The Master Scheduler coordinates and prioritize the activity of the Production Planning team for the site, in order to maximize both customer service and shop floor productivity while maintaining inventory at the agreed upon requirements.

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the proper communication of the production plan to the production teams. Establishes in coordination with the production teams the capacity plan and forecast for review during the SIOP process.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements production control monitoring tools and capacity analysis tools.
  • Provides output analysis of key production monitors.
  • Monitors and updates Lead times.
  • Determines and communicates lead time to the sales department and make sure that all tools (ERP) are fully updated.
  • Ensures that customer backlog is analyzed for part groupings and balance against delivery requirements. Monitors new sales orders to ensure lead times and quantities are respected.
  • Oversee Production Planners to optimize both customer service and shop floor productivity while maintaining the various stocks at a reasonable level.
  • Establish in coordination with the production teams the capacity plan and forecast for review during the SIOP process.
  • Identify capacity overloads to appropriate manufacturing managers and supervisors based on expected demands.
  • Prepare master schedules based on inputs from sales force, customers and sales history that will meet expected demand levels and conform to available capacity and manpower.
  • Provides output analysis of key production monitors.
  • Interact with all levels of employees including but not limited to shop floor, Supervisors, Sales Team, Plant Manager, General Manager, Process and Manufacturing Engineers, Project Engineers, Customers, and Purchasing on a regular basis.
  • Provide training to production planners on ERP system.
  • Monitor ERP messages, and Safety stock quantities and Inventory levels.
  • Communicate adjustments in demand to the organization and ensure appropriate level of urgency is recognized.
  • Maintain MPS to reflect best data available in regards to forecast, lead times, safety stock and deliveries that consider both customer service and inventory goals.
  • Analyze customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action and elevates issues to Supply Chain Manager as necessary.
  • Performs ad hoc tasks and analysis.
  • Review annual usage on high volume items act as liaison between Planning and Procurement, to develop material buying / stocking strategies.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing production planning field.
  • Relies on instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of ISO policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Ensure all people placed under assigned area of responsibility, or all persons who may be affected by equipment or processes placed under their responsibility are complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local and State government, and company policies, procedures and plans.
  • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all EHS procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management's attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our EHS performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
