Position: Desktop Support Technician
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Overview: We are seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Windows operating systems and will be responsible for performing day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance of our plant floor's IT equipment. This role involves direct interaction with both internal application specialists and external equipment providers to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Perform general break/fix tasks throughout the plant, including imaging and installing software on machines as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, such as replacing non-functioning handheld scanners and resolving connectivity problems.
Collaborate with application support personnel to address application-related issues impacting plant floor operations.
Train on and become proficient with plant floor equipment, acting as the primary liaison between our team and equipment providers.
Provide hands-on assistance and technical guidance over the phone to external providers to resolve equipment issues effectively.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
Proven experience with various Windows operating systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues.
Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with internal teams and external service providers.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and systems used on the plant floor.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.
