Job summary
This position prioritizes and performs a wide variety of clinical laboratory tests on various biological specimens reviews evaluates documents and reports resultsMaintains responsibility for the overall operation of all Point of Care Testing (POCT) activities for the assigned region in consultation with and under the direction of Medical Directors Pathologists Clinical Laboratory Directors POCT Committees Nursing Leadership.
Collaborates with staff who supervise point care testing in their respective departments trains supervises trainees laboratory assistants clerks as needed.Assumes responsibility for selection appropriate instrumentation test methodologies developing maintaining appropriate POCT quality assurance program monitoring testing QA processes included recording reporting results ensuring program compliance applicable regulations safe working environment.
- Performs a wide variety clinical laboratory tests various biological specimens.
- Performs calibration quality control maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments.
- Maintains quality assurance program CLIA standards ensuring program compliance applicable regulations safe working environment Ensures training competencies complete grants access qualified staff Performs other related duties assigned.
