Coed Golf Coach - MacArthur High School, Washington


Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Player Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance players' golf skills, including but not limited to swing mechanics, short game proficiency, and course management.
  • Conduct regular practice sessions, drills, and simulations to ensure continuous improvement among team members.
  • Provide individualized coaching to address specific player needs and areas for improvement.

Team Management:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and respect.
  • Effectively communicate team expectations, goals, and strategies to players, parents, and school administrators.
  • Organize and manage team logistics, including practice schedules, transportation to competitions, and equipment maintenance.

Competition Strategy:

  • Develop and implement effective game strategies and tactics for competitions.
  • Analyze opponents and adapt coaching strategies accordingly.
  • Attend and actively participate in league meetings and coordinate with other coaches to ensure a smooth and competitive season.

Mentorship and Leadership:

  • Serve as a positive role model for studentathletes, instilling values of integrity, perseverance, and good sportsmanship.
  • Provide guidance and support to studentathletes in their academic and personal development.
  • Encourage a strong sense of pride and school spirit within the team.

Community Engagement:

  • Actively engage with the school community, parents, and local organizations to build support for the golf program.
  • Organize and participate in community outreach events to promote sport and the school's athletic program.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, with a preference for a degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field.
  • Previous coaching experience in golf at the high school level or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of the rules and strategies of golf.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire studentathletes.
  • Valid coaching certifications and compliance with all relevant state and district requirements.

Coaching is once a week and coach will receive a stipend of $1357.00
