    Description

    Samford University is seeking a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to support our recruitment operations. This role focuses primarily on the functions of recruitment, including managing the applicant tracking system, enhancing candidate experiences, and supporting hiring managers in advancing candidates through the recruitment process. You will be instrumental in maintaining fair and transparent selection practices, consulting on job posting best practices, and preparing job offers. Your responsibilities will also extend to attending job fairs and promoting Samford's employer brand, as well as overseeing the preboarding and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive during both peak and steady periods. This role is ideal for someone adaptable, organized, and ready to contribute positively within a team environment, aligning with our mission and values.
    Job Duties

    Recruitment and Selection:

    •Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition to develop employment programs aligned with university goals.

    •Monitor the applicant tracking system to enhance candidate experience and support hiring managers in advancing candidates.

    •Consult with hiring managers on job posting best practices, prepare job offers, and assist in presenting job offers to candidates.

    •Guide hiring managers on fair interviewing practices and maintaining a transparent and equitable selection process.

    •Ensures all records and documents are collected and appropriately stored at the end of the recruitment cycle for each job opening.

    •Conduct background searches to ensure the suitability of candidates.

    •Utilize recruitment data to advise hiring managers on optimization strategies.

    •Attend job fairs and other opportunities to promote Samford's employer brand and recruit candidates.

    Recruitment Marketing and Analytics:

    Develop and execute advertising campaigns to attract qualified candidates using various platforms.

    •Regularly review staffing trends to identify and stay updated on effective methods for attracting candidates.
    Preboarding and Onboarding:

    •Oversee the preboarding process, including managing tax forms, healthcare benefit documents, and other necessary pre-employment paperwork.

    •Occasionally assist with orientation to create a welcoming environment for new hires.

    •Verify employment eligibility through I-9 form compliance and assist new employees with related paperwork.

    •Assist with benefit enrollment and provide guidance on navigating benefits options.
    Other Duties:

    •Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives: Collaborate with the university's diversity office to ensure inclusive recruitment practices and promote diversity in staff hiring.

    •Employee Referral Program: Assist with developing and managing an employee referral program to encourage current staff members to refer potential candidates.

    •Exit Interviews: Conduct exit interviews with departing staff to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

    •Professional Development: Help organize professional development opportunities for staff, including workshops, training sessions, and skill-building programs.

    •Succession Planning: Contribute to the succession planning process by identifying internal candidates who could be developed for future leadership roles.

    •Employee Engagement Surveys: Administer periodic employee engagement surveys to assess job satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

    •Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the HR department's goals.
    Qualifications

    •Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

    •Excellent communication skills and a commitment to the university's mission and values.

    •Professional yet approachable and adaptable. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to positively contribute within a team environment.

    •Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

    •Willingness to learn new skills.

    •Minimum 1 year of HR experience, with a working knowledge of the employment process, including recruitment operations, selection, and onboarding.

    Preferred Qualifications

    •2-5 years of HR experience, with a strong emphasis on the employment process, including recruitment operations, selection, and onboarding.

    •Open to occasional local area travel for recruitment events and to enhance Samford's employer brand.

    •Open to occasional travel (once every 1 - 2 years) to local, regional, or national conferences/events for professional development or to keep abreast of industry trends.
