Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist the veterinarians in providing quality care to our animal patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general support to the veterinary team.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Take and develop radiographs (xrays) as needed
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering fluids
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in our electronic database
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
- Clean and maintain equipment, exam rooms, kennels, and other areas of the clinic
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent certification preferred
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and venipuncture
- Experience with dog handling and training is a plus
