Job Summary:
I am seeking a part time Medical Biller w/ experience in Athena medical record billing.

Athena submits the claims but follow up is needed, as well as posting charges, payments and adjustments and f/u claims that are unpaid.

Obtaining insurance info on some inpatient billing.
F/U claims that are unpaid. Doctor works 2-3 d/wk.

Sometime in office will be necessary but it is very flexible and will be less once the job is understood.

Duties:

• Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• Utilize medical billing software to enter charges, payments, and adjustments
• Maintain uptodate knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues

Skills:

• Proficiency in medical coding including ICD9, ICD10 codes
• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
• Experience with medical billing systems
• Knowledge of medical records management
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
