JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop new partnerships with community organizations, area businesses, other nonprofit agencies, and hospitals, forming partnerships where appropriate.
  • Lead departmental planning and implementation of new projects.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Compile, maintain and report on the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics as required by the Department of Aging.
  • Analyze trends in the programs, identifying issues and developing and recommending solutions.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of clients participating in programs.
  • Lead evidencebased program instruction.
  • Represent St. Barnabas at internally and externally sponsored events.
  • Perform community outreach, promotion, and recruitment of participants; helping to coordinate training sessions; assisting with the development of program curriculum
  • Perform intake and enrollment of participants.
  • Prepare organizational reports and maintain accurate program records.
  • Manage project resource allocations and budgets.
  • Screen, recruit, and train volunteers for program delivery.
  • Schedule staff to attend required trainings and conferences as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationship with project team.
  • Organizes and conduct departmental meetings.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee training and orientation of departmental staff members.
  • Requires flexible schedule as some night and weekends may be needed
  • Local travel is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience in outreach activities and building program attendance, particularly with older, multiethnic adults.
  • Strong multitasking and problemsolving skills; ability to maintain composure in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to relate, establish and cultivate respectful relationships with older people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, showing flexibility as needed; adept at dealing with conflicting/changing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
  • Strong multitasking and problemsolving skills; ability to maintain composure in a fastpaced environment
  • Possess a vehicle and proof of insurance, valid California driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.

This would require the ability to lift 50 lbs., lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Travel
Some travel is expected, on regular bases for this position.


Language Skills:


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, ability to write routine reports and correspondence, can speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Preferable bilingual English-Spanish.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages

And other related accounting, financial and payroll entries.
