24 hours a week
***: Meets with and provides care for clients considering abortion or who have experienced abortion. Responsibilities include intake, referrals, follow-up and administrative duties.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
INTAKE- meet with clients and interview utilizing Avail approach
Conduct initial intake interview with clients considering or scheduling an abortion
Facilitate a decision-making tool, helping clients to clarify their options, values, and next steps
REFERRALS- provide options to clients
Provide compassionate care and offer complete information on all pregnancy options, including fetal
development and abortion procedures
Provide case management & community referrals to address clients' immediate needs
FOLLOW UP- track client decisions and keep building the relationship
Provide timely follow-up with clients
ADMINISTRATIVE- support own work with record keeping and support the Center
Document all client interactions in a timely fashion
When not providing direct or indirect client care, will assist the Client Services Team on any needed administrative tasks
Other duties as may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Competencies
This client-facing role requires a compassionate individual who exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life.

Education:Degree in social work or counseling a plus, but not a requirement.

Work Experience:2+ years experience working with individuals in crisis situations. This may be volunteer or paid experience.

Knowledge areas:may be trained on the job
- facts about fetal development, knowledge of support systems available for parents, community and church connections and support.

Competencies:Composure, Interpersonal Savvy, Patience, Compassion, Problem-Solving, Verbal Communication
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand, walk or sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
- Ability to talk, see and hear within normal range
- Finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects
