INFORMATION & REFERRAL SPECIALIST
Job Code: 75175 Salary Grade: 10 FLSA: Nonexempt: Salary Range: $37,182 to $59,863
Purpose of Classification:
The main goal of this role is to provide information and referral assistance to adults aged 60 and above, caregivers of the same age group, grandparents raising grandchildren, individuals with disabilities, and others in need of assistance in accessing aging services and programs effectively.
Essential Functions:
• Respond to and return client calls, assess their needs, offer information and referrals for services and programs.• Input client data into Enhanced Services Program (ESP) and conduct telephone screenings.• Attend trainings and meetings related to Information & Referral duties.• Handle incoming mail, file contracts, type memos, and perform administrative tasks.• Represent the organization at outreach events, community meetings, and various programs aimed at assisting seniors and caregivers.• Collaborate with partner agencies through specialized software programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in business preferred; at least two years of experience in public administration or relevant fields; or a suitable combination of education and experience that equips for this role.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must hold and keep a valid Georgia driver's license.
Supplemental Duties:
• Respond to 311 inquiries promptly and professionally.• Address client concerns via phone and email, identifying needs and providing support.• Connect clients with appropriate Human Services divisions, track interactions, and ensure timely responses.• Keep the resource directory updated with accurate service information.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in customer service or call center positions.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, empathy, patience, and compassion.• Proficiency in computer systems, database management, knowledge of community resources, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
