- Ensure legal compliance throughout Human Resources Management
- Knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, CFRA, and other applicable laws.
- Knowledgeable in HR policies and procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and federal, state and local employment laws/regulations including leave administration, ADA, accommodations and investigations, such as harassment
- Strong knowledge of hiring processes and recruiting.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong business and HR acumen; sound judgment, critical evaluation, analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, consultation and communication skills (oral and written) with a high degree of business acumen.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and manage several projects concurrently.

- Must exhibit ethical practice, honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
- Assists in coordinating and often conducts quarterly part-time employee meetings.
- Assists in coordinating store events (Holiday party, Springtime Party, etc.).
- Assists with coordinating store Service Award program for FT/RT/PT employees.
- Conducts tours of store for schools and civic organizations.
- Orders supplies for office and departments.
- Assists in other areas of commissary as needed.
- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization, and interpret instructions.
- Ability to do arithmetic and calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Must possess the ability to interview, counsel or advise people; evaluate data, compose correspondence.
- Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

General Function:
The Human Resources Generalist performs duties on a professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: recruiting/hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, compensation, organizational development, performance management, policy implementation, communications, and training.
