If you share our values to safety and excellence, we want to hear from you.Role SummaryThe Material Control Specialist I ensures parts and material are provided for efficient airline operations at Alaska Airlines (AS).
As an individual contributor, this role focuses material forecasting, demand planning, component repair and overhaul management and procurement actions in support of Maintenance and Engineering.
Key DutiesDetermines stocking levels for expendable, repairable and rotable parts based on analysis of average monthly usage, historical demand and future requirements.
Reviews all unserviceable components and equipment to determine repair/overhaul disposition.Initiates repair orders to outside vendor agencies and holds vendors accountable to Alaska processes.
Manages material in support of Line Maintenance, Engineering projects or Heavy Maintenance visits.
Coordinates with Maintenance Programs, Records, and Engineering to ensure proper processes and controls are in place to maintain a compliant material programAssists in the management of vendor component contracts.
Analyzes order points, forecasts demand trends, validates economic order quantities, and forwards electronic requisitions to purchasing.Processes rotable and repairable scrap transactions and monitors out-of-stock alerts to expedite parts to meet location requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & SkillsRequiredBachelors degree, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
A self-starter with good follow-through skills and the ability to work well with others/various groups.
Excellent communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills.
Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to consistently lift 20 lbs.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.Must be authorized to work in the U.S.PreferredFamiliarity with inventory control, purchasing, stores, and accounting procedures.
Knowledge of FAA and ASA standards as they apply to component repair.
Demonstrated skill and ability to collect, organize, and analyze data, to summarize findings, and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources with customers and/or vendors.737 and/or A320 Aircraft Parts knowledge.

Salary Range$62, $87,150 / yearSalary DetailsPay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
