    Description

    Overview:

    The Buyer will be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

    The pay range is $ /hr.

    Review specifications for contractual and technical accuracy
    Assist at pre-and post-bid meetings to clarify specifications and contractual responsibilities for bidders
    Review current inventory and provide cost and price analyses
    Maintain inventory levels by placing purchase orders within established time frames
    Act as a liaison between the vendors and Accounts Payable Department to resolve discrepancies in invoicing and adjustments for materials shortages, damages, or inferior quality
    Coordinate emergency purchases with suppliers and departments
    Review vendor pricing and compare opportunities to obtain better pricing without sacrificing quality
    Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
    Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
    Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
    Track inventory discrepancies, stock outs and special ordered parts
    Attend weekly meeting with customer to update on open order statues
    Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
    Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
    Perform related duties and projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    High School diploma or equivalent
    5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement of goods and materials
    Multi-tasking, time management, organizational and analytical skills
    Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
    Ability to interact effectively with internal departments, suppliers and others involved in the procurement process
    Verbal and written communication skills
    Customer service, conflict resolution and presentation skills
    Valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Current COVID-19 vaccine
    Physical Requirements:
    Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
