About the Role


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and will work closely with other members of the HR team supporting the corporate objectives of the organization.


Responsibilities include the following functional areas:
employee relations, performance management, immigration, onboarding, and learning and development.


What You Will Do

HR Generalist Functions

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing timely and effective resolution while upholding company policies and legal regulations.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct allegations with professionalism and confidentiality and escalate to the senior HR Generalist as needed.
  • Proactively identify and address potential employee relations issues to foster a positive work environment and prevent conflicts.
  • Partner with the HR team and other departments to deliver a robust onboarding and orientation program, ensuring a consistent engagement experience for new hires.
  • In consultation with the Senior HR Generalist, collaborate with hiring managers and recruiters to determine visa sponsorship needs for prospective employees.
  • Support the performance management process, including goalsetting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions, to promote employee growth and development.
  • Assist in the implementation of performance improvement plans for underperforming employees, providing guidance and support to help them succeed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist with creating communications to employees regarding training, performance management, events, etc.

Learning and Development

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal training requirements, including the coordination and/or delivery of onsite and online training sessions.
  • Partner with internal and external training experts to develop and deliver programs that support strategic goals and foster employee growth.
  • Collaborate with global learning team to implement LMS best practices and assist with local deployment of global learning and development programs
  • Collaborate with department heads and supervisors to identify training needs and craft customized development plans for employees across all levels.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, adjusting as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Oversee the maintenance and utilization of the Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate training administration and tracking.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other human resources functional assignments as needed.
  • Manage the tuition reimbursement process and Training Requests
  • Attend meetings with virtual training vendor to review new training offerings and discuss company training needs
  • Assist with audits (provide documentation, metrics, etc.)

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 35 years HR/L&D experience
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP a plus
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effectively manage relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong team player with the ability to work comfortably with people of diverse skills, responsibilities and personalities
  • High level of professional integrity with the ability to selfstart and maintain confidential information
  • Meticulous attention to detail and desire to improve processes.
Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.

This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. Relocation assistance is available.

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Must be able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods; able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis; able to perform general office administrative activities:
copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
