The LMBV, an engineering and environmental company with over 25 years of experience in mining remediation and landscape transformation, is seeking a secretary (m/f/d) to join their Markscheiderei unit at their Leipzig location, starting in August 2023.


Since 1994, the LMBV has been responsible for the remediation of lignite mining areas in the Lausitz and Central German regions on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany and the states of Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia.

The sole shareholder is the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Federal Ministry of Finance.


The tasks of the LMBV include the following main areas:

  • Restoration of land affected by lignite mining as the responsible project sponsor, including planning, tendering, monitoring, and acceptance of remediation work with the goal of ending mining supervision
  • Restoration of a balanced water balance
  • Preservation of underground mines from the decommissioned potash, spar, and ore mining
  • Utilization and marketing of remediated properties for subsequent use, with the goal of reintegrating them into the natural and economic cycle
As an engineering company, the LMBV currently employs around 700 people at their locations in Senftenberg, Leipzig, and Sondershausen.
