ABOUT THE POSITION, the Summer Development Associate will be an integral part of our Development team whose responsibility it is to strengthen funding relationships in order to support and scale Playworks' impact throughout New England. The assignment will be completed through the months of July/August (with some flexibility of start/completion dates), when our team is most active with fundraising engagements and outreach.


Reporting to the Director of Development, the Summer DA will support the design and execution of programs and projects intended to increase fundraising and engagement from corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors.

In partnership with the Development team, the Summer DA will assist in all areas of Development strategy including the execution of volunteer engagement initiatives, regional communications and social media strategies, and some data management/administrative tasks.

Input from the Summer DA will be sought when planning and implementing various Development initiatives and strategies.

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to dynamically facilitate small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both in person and virtually.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to provide support outside of regular business hours (ex. industry events/meetings occasionally occur on nights and weekends) and travel on occasion to various locations throughout New England.
  • This is a hybrid working position with our office based in Fields Corner/Dorchester. Team meetings and other events require in person attendance.

Compensation:


  • This is a temporary (summer), nonexempt position to be paid at the hourly rate of $23.03 per hour.
  • It is expected that the Summer SD will work 40 hours per week with some flex time built into the schedule to account for evening work commitments.
