    Description
    We have a contract opportunity for a Part Time Automation Engineer in Athens GA


    Schedule:
    3 plus days per week

    Responsibility of providing advanced design, troubleshooting support and advancement of site automation technologies including production equipment and building automation.

    This position will provide design, programming and troubleshooting support of automated controls to plant services department for plant engineering, construction and maintenance work.

    Manage capital and expense projects and implement modifications to existing systems.

    Manage capital & expense projects ensuring sustainable growth of site automation technologies.

    Maintain building automation system including lifecycle management, modification and troubleshooting in compliance with SOPs and current industry standards.
    Research and evaluate potential automation projects to determine feasibility. Provide data and proposals to management to guide site investment strategy.
    Develop and implement automation improvement initiatives.
    Act as automation and controls subject matter expert on large capital projects.
    Support day to day site automation and controls needs, minimizing production loss. Lead root cause analysis initiatives as related to automation topics Research new technologies, and gain competency.
    Requires multitasking and frequent assessment of priorities to ensure that production and project goals are achieved in a fast paced environment
    This position will interface with all internal functions, depending on project. Primarily, this position will interface with operations, maintenance and engineering, validation and IT.
    Interface with contractors specific to project or system needs.

    The responsibilities of this position are to interact with automation and to manage automation projects on a daily basis.

    Because of this, expertise with automation (PLCs, HMI/SCADAs, building automation and robotics) and project management tools is required

    Knowledge of biopharmaceutical regulations and good manufacturing practices is preferred.
    # Low voltage controls (relays, safety circuits, drives, etc.) Devices and interface technologies (sensors, IO modules, fieldbus and networking) PLC programming including ladder, function block and structured text. Mechanical design methods and techniques using 30 CAD SolidWorks experience is preferred.
    # Building automation systems. Good project management and organizational skills.

    Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Control Systems field+ 4 years experience
