Whenever a production machine needs to be operated and maintained properly, the machine and plant operator takes action. They are familiar with the equipment and know how to adjust and maintain the high-quality and complex machines.


Operating and maintaining the machines correctly is second nature to them, as is diagnosing and fixing any errors that may occur.

In the first year of training, the foundation for future specialization is laid.

In the second year of training, there is a focus on metal and plastic technology.


At PAPIER-METTLER, the machine and plant operator operates production machines for paper or plastic products, as well as extruders for the production of film.

They monitor the production process, identify and resolve any issues, and check the functionality of safety devices. They are also familiar with accident prevention regulations in their work area.
